Within the framework of numerous research and practical projects at national level, ICoM explores customized digitalization strategies for client organizations and all the stakeholders and companies involved in the construction value chain. The focus is always on digitalization, construction and operation. This includes questions of public administration as well as applications of the commercial economy. The institute supports various BIM projects in the field of building construction as well as in infrastructure. In addition to the industry focus, the interdisciplinary knowledge transfer as well as transdisciplinary cooperations are important.
Basis for successful digitalization is the gradual implementation and application of digital working methods and techniques, taking into account the fields of action of organization and processes, awarding and contracting, qualification, and information technologies. It is essential to involve all employees in the digital transformation process and to ensure knowledge exchange, knowledge transfer and goal-oriented qualification programs. Socio-technical and social issues must be considered in a complementary manner.Copyright: © Klemt-Albert
